C. Rose Brain Series 2, #10: Motor Neuron Disorders

In the tenth episode of the second Charlie Rose Brain Series, Charlie and co-host Dr. Eric Kandel discuss the two major motor neuron disorders, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). They welcomed scientists and physicians Dr. Richard Finkel of Nemours Children’s Hospital and Neil Shneider of Columbia University, and affected patients Peter Frates (ALS), Griffen Kingkiner (SMA), and Griffen’s mother Beth Kingkiner.
